This blog has no pictures… unfortunately.
So… as you may know this blog is mainly for traveling, restaurants and just places to go to check out if you decide on any of the destinations that I or my colleagues think to write about why they like the places we’ve visited.
I know that I haven’t posted a blog in some while now. But long story short, I’ve been very ill, and haven’t gone much to explore the yummy eateries. I was supposed to go to more different countries and all got postponed, (Bali, Malaysia, Japan, Korea, and the Bahamas) when I was well enough to go.
But due to Covid-19 – things are different. Been cooking a lot – will post up recipes with pics soon! I currently reside in Fort Lauderdale and they are doing a “soft” opening of the bars and restaurants. I already heard that a couple of cities in the states have reopened and now shut down because people are not doing social distancing.
My friend and I decided just to see what happens when they semi-reopened… this is what we saw. The bars/restaurants were opened, the tables (no chairs) were far apart from each other which is good. The first bar we went to was normally a sushi bar… wore a mask when I needed to go to the rest room. But the next few places they wouldn’t allow it. -They need port-a-potties I.M.O. I know they are trying to be safe…but if you gotta go… you gotta go. (No squatting bush involved- though at one point we did make a joke about it).
Majority of people were doing social distancing but I think that one side of the street should be one way on the side walk, and the other side going the other so no one crosses paths to avoid each other- I.M.O…
The bars also raised their prices on drinks. Food prices seemed the same maybe a teensy bit higher but not as much as a drink. ($20 for a amaretto gin… what the heck!) I can understand that since they need to make up for the time lost in revenue. And there were only high tops – no chairs… I like to eat sitting… especially anything that can be messy. Lol. Plainly said it’s uncomfortable. I decided to take my food home and will reheat it when I get home in the toaster oven.
Also, they allow you to buy the drinks and take it home which entices drinking and driving. Bad idea? Again… IMO. Although there were a LOT of cops on the road…
I did not mention any names of the places… because of the fact things can change and I don’t want to speak ill for the businesses I checked out. I’m curious to know how this weekend is going to go when they re-open everything…
One more thing… I found it interesting that people were cruising blasting their car radio and basically showing off how their car looked…
Although seeing the ocean gorgeous and blue with no one on the sands… it was refreshing though very windy. Thank gosh I didn’t wear a sundress…
